Mindful Moments
Focused Attention Practices

We refer to Mindful Moments as short, focused attention practices that help anchor our awareness in the moment. The intention of these practices is to strengthen the mind’s ability to notice what is happening in our body, our mind and our environment in the moment. Over time, a breathing practice can also build self-regulation skills that aid in managing quick emotional impulses and habitual behavior. The more we exercise our brain with repeated experiences that cultivate attention and clarity, the more we enhance its capacity to catch those impulses and pause, rather than react. In fact, we actually begin to reshape the brain circuitry in quite a powerful and beneficial way as it learns to regulate emotions and behavior.
