SELF-MANAGEMENT

A video that will spark students’ curiosity about their breath and its connection to life.

SELF-MANAGEMENT

Using free-diving world record holder Erez Beatus as an example of how one can use mind, body and breath awareness to accomplish feats as extreme as diving to the bottom of the ocean, allows students to envision the ways in which they might employ these same skills in order to cultivate spaces in their own lives that are free of fear, stress and anxiety.

SELF-MANAGEMENT

Dim the lights and ask students to take five mindful breaths. Play the video:

Once the video has ended, gather the students in a circle and engage in a discussion using the dialogue prompts below.

DIALOGUE PROMPTS:

  • Share a story of a time when you became aware of the experience of breathing.
  • In the video Erez says the ocean is a place where you can feel at one with yourself. Where do you feel that connection?
