Unit: 4

Into Action: Creative Activities

This unit taps into each individual’s ability to participate, engage and become part of a fully connected community regardless of learning levels and/or challenges. The activities in this section have been designed to teach social and emotional intelligence through a playful and creative approach. They promote personal success, improve critical thinking skills and encourage thoughtful action. Furthermore, when done properly, these exercises build attention and bolster communication skills. On the whole, the activities in this unit are meant to help each participant uncover his/her unique talents and gifts, and then teach them to use these personal strengths to create a more caring, responsible and empathetic community at large. It is our hope that by developing these skills during adolescence, we can help create the next generation of thoughtful leaders who will bring these concepts with them into their future adult lives and communities.
